bravo!

kris van assche looks like he's finally comfortable with his dior appointment.  this collection has an effortless fluidity i found lacking in previous collections. this looks fantastic! so he had some big shoes to fill but now i'm saying hedi who? (if only i were thin enough to wear any of it!)

indeed, more about CDG.

i don't love paying $20 for glossy fashion mags, but this one looks like a must have from another magazine coming out mid Feb.  an ode to the lovely rei kawakubo/CDG is  making it worth the price for me. i can't get enough. (read the preview here)

this spread has also intrigued me to search out more work by the photographer Lina Scheynius
(amazing!!!)

and while we're on the topic i thought these looks from Dries Van Noten's menswear fall 2010 show was another nod to the aforementioned designer/brand. (photos via wwd.com)  agreed?  XO JS

i want to live and only live in modern knits

maybe it's the time i've had off, but seeking modern comfort seems to be a daily task.  i could live in these amazing knits by xavier brisoux.

the modernity and simplicity of the silhouettes make them oh-so dreamy.

alcatraz.

i never expected to be so inspired by what is deemed a tourist destination here in the bay area.  it had such a heavy presence, and i wanted these photographs to reflect that.  i also imagined what it must have been like to live in the hole without any light, does one find out who they really are through isolation?  the thought and aesthetics of the place were truly inspiring.
